League Organization
- This year’s season features 13 teams
- The league is played according to Blood Bowl Season 3 rules (2025)
- Participation in the league is paid. The account number for the entry fee is 2029288019/3030 (please include your nickname in the note)
- Participation only in the Chaos League costs 500 CZK
- The starting budget for each team is 1,000,000. Teams that want to continue into the next season (from the previous one) will handle the transfer according to the re-draft rules in the current rulebook. Managers who would like to transfer a team from any of the previous Chaos League seasons, and thus from a different BB edition, will arrange the conversion with the league management.
- According to the schedule, players will face each opponent exactly once, and then the x best teams will advance to the play-offs (see the "Play-offs" section)
- Before signing up, consider whether there is enough time to play at least one match every three weeks.
- In addition to the humble self (Grom), the league is run by League Co-Commissioner Coewolf and Rules Commissioner Wolfhound, who have the final say on rules-related matters...
- Changes to the league rules may be made no later than before the start of the first round of the given season. Any rule change after this date must be approved in a public vote by all participants. In the case of the play-offs, a change can be made before the first round of the play-offs.
- By participating in the Chaos League, players confirm that they are familiar with these rules and agree to them.
- There is no need to send applications anywhere; it is enough to register on TourPlay and send the entry fee.
Regular Season
- Participants always have 3–4 weeks to play each round. The length of the round is determined by the number of rounds and participants. The complete league schedule is always published at the beginning of the season.
- If a round is not played clearly due to the fault of one of the players, or if one of the players forfeits the match, the match is awarded by default to the opponent. See the Forfeits section below.
- If the two coaches are unable to agree on a date to play the match and neither of them accepts responsibility for it not being played, the match is recorded as 0:0 and, for the purposes of the league table, both teams lose it. Neither team earns any points. For further consequences, see the Forfeits section.
- If two players are tied on points at the end of the regular season, a win by forfeit always has a lower value than a standard win. The same applies in the case of a loss.
Play-offs
- x of the best teams from the regular season advance to the play-offs (always determined according to the number of participants). Pairings in the knockout stage are made in the form of challenges. The highest-ranked team after the regular season challenges one of the qualified teams to a head-to-head match. Then the next highest-ranked coach who does not yet have an opponent does the same, and so on. If a different play-off format is announced at the TP at the start of the season, the format announced at the TP applies.
- In the event of a tie on points, the following criteria decide the regular season ranking, in this order:
number of wins
points difference
higher number of TDs scored
head-to-head result
lower TV
- Teams that qualify for the play-offs may heal all their MNGs before the first round. No other injuries are healed. This healing takes place only before the first round.
- In the play-offs it is not allowed to hire Mercenaries or Kari Coldsteel, Norse Cheerleader ((In)Famous Coaching Staff) as inducements.
- It is possible to hire Star Players for the play-offs, but with certain restrictions. Tier 1–2 teams, with Gnomes counted as tier 2, may hire 1 Star Player, but only as an inducement. It is not allowed to use money from the team’s own treasury. Tier 3 teams (Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Snotling) may hire 2 Star Players, but only as inducements. It is not allowed to use money from the team’s own treasury.
- Failure to participate in the play-offs after a team has qualified is counted as a forfeit with all its consequences.
- If the score is tied in a play-off match, overtime follows according to the standard rules. A further 8 turns are played. Before the start of overtime, it is determined again which team will kick and which will receive. Unused Team Re-rolls from the second half are carried over into overtime, but no new ones are added. If the score is still tied after overtime, a penalty shoot-out follows. Coaches make five D6 roll-offs, with ties being re-rolled. The coach who wins more roll-offs wins the match.
- Opponents for the second and subsequent play-off rounds are determined by the traditional draw.
End of Season
- At the end of the regular season, the best player in each personal statistics category (most TDs, passes, CAS and kills) receives one MVP, i.e. +4 XP.
- Personal statistics are counted only from the state after the regular season; the play-offs are not included. If a player succeeds in multiple categories, they may figuratively receive two trophies, but only one MVP. A single player can therefore gain a maximum of +4 XP at the end of the season.
- If two players reach the same number, the winner is decided by the player’s DNI.
- The winner of the Dráb-Nakule Index receives the Pro skill, which does not count towards the skill limit but does increase the player’s TV.
- The winning team of the Chaos League receives 100,000 into the team treasury, the second team 60,000 and the third 30,000. If a team does not continue in the next season, the amount is not transferred to the new manager’s team.
Scoring
- Win – 3 points
- Draw – 1 point
- Loss – 0 points
- Scoring 3 TDs – +1 point
- No TDs conceded – +1 point
- Causing 3 CAS – +1 point
Forfeits
- If a league match is not played within the set deadline and neither coach accepts responsibility for it not being played, the match is recorded as 0:0 and counts as a loss for both teams. Neither team gains league points, MVPs, or Winnings.
- If one of the coaches announces before the deadline that, due to real time or personal constraints, they are unable to play the match, they may concede the match to the opponent. Such a forfeit is considered Conceding Without Penalty. The opponent wins the match and gains 2 MVPs and Winnings of D6 × 10,000. The conceding team is not further penalised.
- If, during a match at the start of a new drive, a team finds itself in a situation where it is unable to place at least three players on the Line of Scrimmage, it may concede the match without penalty (Conceding Without Penalty). In such a case, the opponent automatically wins 2:0. If the opponent has already scored more than two touchdowns, the result is X:0, where X corresponds to the number of touchdowns scored up to that point. The conceding team does not suffer any additional penalties for the forfeit in this case.
- In all other cases where a coach concedes an ongoing match despite being able to continue, this is considered a standard forfeit. The current Blood Bowl Third Season Edition rules for Conceding apply in full, including all consequences for both teams.
- For the purposes of Chaos League standings, the result of a standard forfeit is recorded according to the result determined by the current Blood Bowl Third Season Edition rules.
Other Rules
- After completing an action, the player’s figure is turned 180° so it is clear that it has already been used. At the end of the round, the figures can either be turned back or left as they are, and in the next round they are turned the opposite way again.
- Rounds played from December to February use the winter weather table.
- Rounds played from March to May use the spring weather table.
- Rounds played from June to August use the summer weather table.
- Rounds played from September to November use the autumn weather table.
Inducements
- For purchasing Inducements, the current Blood Bowl Third Season Edition rules are used, unless the Chaos League rules explicitly state otherwise.
- For calculating Petty Cash and using the team treasury, the current rules for League Play are used.
- Exhibition matches are not played within the Chaos League.
- All current Inducements and Star Players allowed for Blood Bowl Third Season Edition are available. The only exception is Prayers to Nuffle, which are banned for the Season 12 play-offs and for the entire Season 13.
- All teams released by GW are allowed to participate in the Chaos League, therefore Slann is not allowed.
- Within the Chaos League it is also possible to hire deceased league players who have been included among the Chaos League Star Players. Their list can be found in the League Legends section.
